Meet Paul Greyvensteyn
I am an innovative architect and designer and will accommodate clients with any style desired. Architectural designing is like relaxation to me and I enjoy it tremendously. I also have an interest in reading articles and books about architecture to keep in touch with the latest technology and trends.
I studied at the University of the Free State, where I completed my studies in 1999. In my final dissention year I won a Corobrik Award for designing a Place of Safety.
My architectural degree consists out of two degrees: 1st a B.Arch. Stud I received in 1997 and 2nd a B.Arch degree I received in 1999.
During the completion of my degree I earned enough credits to receive exemption from the compulsory two year practical training required by the Council of Architects.
I started my own practice in January 1999 and in October 2000 I joined Mr J.B. Conradie from Conradie Architects, Potchefstroom, in association.
Since 2000, I have completed a wide spectrum of projects, from houses, town houses, alterations and industrial buildings to shopping centres, schools, hostels and secure care centres etc.
I have been a registered member of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession since 2001 (registration number: 6366) and am also a member of The South African Institute of Architects (registration number: 7790).
It remains a privilege for me to plan a building or house for a client, which will suit their needs. Both large and small projects are carried out with equal dedication.
I also believe that it is important to plan a structure of which the community can be proud of, and which is aesthetically acceptable, constructed out of durable and effective materials, which will ultimately be an architectural gain for the community and the environment.
All forms and types of buildings consist of floors, walls and roofs, the primary purpose being giving shelter to its inhabitants. I am of the opinion that it is the duty of any architect to identify the specific needs of the client and pattern language in such a manner that he will be able to design a building form for the client that he will identify with.
Conradie & Greyvensteyn Architects was established in 1999. We strive to render services with an appropriate balance between theory and practice.
As a team we exchange knowledge to define and analyse the needs of our clients, so that a successful solution, complying with the architectural feasibility scale, may be achieved.
We keep abreast of technological development to provide our clients with only the best service.
The firm has experience in new designs, additions, repairs, alterations, renovations and restorations to buildings or houses of a vast variety.
For many years Conradie & Greyvensteyn Architects have been and still are dedicated to the upliftment and support of disadvantaged communities. We believe in South Africa, Africa and all the people of Africa. We endeavour to serve all communities, because architecture and planning is the expression of civilization’s potential.
Construction provides the proof of achievements we wish to preserve and on which we continue to build. We are also prepared to give our full support to the challenge of contributing to the upliftment of the previously marginalised community!
Our future plans
Over the past decade Conradie & Greyvensteyn Architects have grown from strength to strength. The firm has become a very strong and active market competitor. A growing concern for the environment, however, has prompted a stronger migration towards green architecture.
An increased awareness of going green will also result in the technologies involved becoming more accessible and affordable. Conradie & Greyvensteyn Architects is thus motivated and inspired to help build a greener future.
